Wiskin Complete Set — Inner and Outer Protection in One Box
The Wiskin set is the only product in the test that covers both displays. It includes two inner display films, two tempered glasses for the outer display, two application frames for the inner films, and a squeegee. At around €23, it’s the cheapest product in the field.

Verdict: Recommended specifically because of the inner display film. If you want to add a layer of protection over your Fold 8’s factory film — and avoid a trip to Samsung if something goes wrong — this is currently the only convincing solution available. The included outer glass, on the other hand, is best left in the box; go with the Spigen instead.
Spigen Tempered Glass — The Cleanest Installation in the Test
Spigen supplies a two-pack for around €25, including an alignment frame, wet and dry wipes, and two dust removers. Those dust removers are the best single component in the entire test field: three passes over the display and the surface is genuinely dust-free.

Verdict: If you want genuine drop protection for the front display, the Spigen is currently the best pick — not because it’s flawless, but because the installation is unmatched in this field and it offers real impact protection. Buying tip: check the product images for whether a black border extending to the housing edge is included. Those versions look considerably better once applied.
Samsung Anti-Reflective Film — Original, With a Real Effect
At around €30, Samsung’s original film is the most expensive product here, and at the same time the one with the weakest accessories. What it does deliver, uniquely in this test, is noticeable glare reduction.

Verdict: The right choice if you frequently use the display in bright light or direct sun and find reflections genuinely annoying. If your main worry is drop damage, tempered glass serves you better — this film protects against scratches only.
Frequently Asked Questions About Galaxy Z Fold 8 Screen Protection
Can I peel off the pre-installed film on the inner display?
No, absolutely not. That film is an integral part of the display assembly and is bonded to the layers underneath. Removing it usually damages the display itself. If it lifts on its own over time or starts bubbling, that’s a warranty case for Samsung within the coverage period — not a DIY repair.
Is there tempered glass for the inner display?
No, and that won’t change. Hardened glass is rigid and would crack the first time you folded the device shut. A flexible film is the only viable option for the inner display.
Does a film on the inner display come loose from folding?
That was exactly my expectation — but in testing it didn’t lift or crease even after repeated folding straight after application. How it looks after several months of daily use, however, isn’t something I can answer honestly at this point.
Film or tempered glass for the outer display?
It depends on what you’re protecting against. A film guards against scratches and can reduce glare, but won’t help in a fall. Tempered glass breaks in place of the display and is therefore the only real drop protection.
Why does the tempered glass look so small on the front display?
The glasses currently available cover only the display area, not the wide black frame around it. When buying, look for product images showing a black border extending to the housing edge — those versions look far more cohesive. Alternatively, a case with a raised front lip conceals the transition.
