The MagSafe Finger Holder from Anker

The new MagSafe Finger Holder from Anker is a brilliant invention. Why? Because it holds securely through magnets and doesn’t require adhesive like other finger holders. Additionally, it can be used with any MagSafe case, regardless of its texture, whereas adhesive holders only stick to smooth cases. It holds very firmly, and with the fold-out ring, it also serves as a stand. The finger holder can be easily rotated into the desired position. Furthermore, the MagSafe Finger Holder is of high-quality craftsmanship.

However, with the finger holder, wireless charging is no longer possible, and it doesn’t work with MagSafe car mounts. In such cases, you’ll need to remove the ring. Additionally, over time, these rings may stretch out, but this only becomes apparent in long-term tests.

The Anker MagSafe Power Bank

The Anker MagSafe Power Bank is very well-crafted and feels very high-quality, which is what you’d expect given its price. In addition to the very secure MagSafe mount, it also features an integrated stand function. The power bank charges at 7.5V, like the original, but it has a capacity of 5000 mAh instead of the original 1460 mAh, which costs $109. Additionally, you can charge all other wireless charging-enabled devices here, as well as anything else via cable.

Because the plug for the power bank is located at the bottom, you can’t use the power bank in stand mode as a wireless charger. Additionally, the power bank rotates slightly on the back of the iPhone. Another downside is the non-disconnectable charging function. Once docked, it starts charging, and if you want to interrupt it, you have to remove the power bank. Moreover, you can’t charge multiple devices simultaneously as you can with other power banks, and the Apple Watch can only be charged here via cable.

Everyone must decide for themselves whether they absolutely need this feature and if they can live with the drawbacks, or if they’d rather opt for a power bank with an integrated wireless charger, like this one, which has six times the power and is significantly cheaper.

The Apple MagSafe Duo Charger

The Apple MagSafe Duo Charger is typically Apple in that it is extremely well-crafted. With this charger, you can charge your iPhone or AirPods along with your Apple Watch. It’s all connected with just one cable, making it perfect for travel or on-the-go, but of course, it’s also great for your bedside table. It’s worth noting that the MagSafe Duo Charger also works when folded, so you don’t always have to unfold it, especially if you only want to charge the Watch. Another advantage is that the Apple Watch can be charged in a standing position, allowing you to still read the time. Even if you don’t have a MagSafe case, the Duo Charger still securely holds onto the iPhone and charges it.

In terms of price, we’re obviously in the upper range here. Additionally, some people have experienced issues with their phones, especially iPhone 11 and older models, charging too slowly, especially when charging the Watch at the same time. Fast charging is only possible with iPhone 12 and newer models. The last drawback concerns the absence of a power plug for fast charging. If you don’t have one, you’ll need to purchase one separately, and I’ve provided a link below.

I find the MagSafe Duo Charger even more fantastic for travel or on-the-go, as it’s compact and can charge all your devices. However, I wouldn’t leave it in a hotel room, just like I wouldn’t leave a cable behind there =)

The HaloLock Universal Ring by ESR

The HaloLock Universal Ring by ESR is a brilliant solution for some people, as it allows you to turn any smooth case into a MagSafe case. Additionally, this also works for Samsung devices, so you can use MagSafe accessories with Samsung devices as well. The small plate is not a magnet but simply a piece of metal and is also very thin. It adheres very well to smooth surfaces, ensuring the function works. This means your phone will now attach to MagSafe accessories, such as a car mount, and still charge at the same time.

The manufacturer advises against directly adhering the ring to the phone. Additionally, the ring is only designated for iPhone 12 and 13 models, not for iPhone 11 or earlier models. Unfortunately, you can only use the ring once and cannot repeatedly adhere it to another case, as the adhesive effect naturally diminishes. It’s also important to note that the ring only sticks to smooth cases, not to materials like silicone or leather. Another downside is the included adapter. You insert it into your Lightning port, providing the perfect template for placing the ring on the back of the case. Unfortunately, this only works correctly with thin cases; you can see what I mean in the video above.

ESR has introduced a clever product here that allows you to turn any smooth case into a MagSafe case. Unfortunately, the installation is not ideal, but for those who have expensive Rhinoshield cases without MagSafe, this allows for an easy upgrade.

The MagSafe Wallet with Stand Function by MOFT

The MagSafe Wallet with Stand Function by MOFT offers several advantages. Firstly, it allows you to prop up the iPhone in various positions and includes a card slot. The quality and craftsmanship are good. Additionally, the MagSafe Wallet can also be used as a finger holder.

Unfortunately, with the blue model, which I also purchased, the magnet isn’t as strong as in the other models. So, it’s better to steer clear of the blue color. Retrieving the inserted cards is also a bit fiddly and less convenient compared to Apple’s original MagSafe Wallet. Like with all MagSafe Wallets, you need to remove it before MagSafe charging. However, you can magnetically attach the MagSafe puck between the Wallet and iPhone to serve as a reminder to reattach the Wallet in the morning. The price is a personal decision. Whether it’s genuine leather is not specified, but it’s doubted.

The functionality for debit cards, etc., is somewhat limited, but it can be used if you don’t need to take them out constantly. Otherwise, it can be a bit inconvenient. However, for those who also need a stand function with various positions and a hand holder to prevent the phone from slipping, this product is worth a closer look. Some have reported that the magnet isn’t as strong, especially with the blue models, which is also the case with mine. Therefore, it’s advisable to avoid this color.

The original PopSocket with MagSafe

The original PopSocket now also attaches via MagSafe. There’s no need for adhesive anymore, and I must say, it holds very securely. You don’t have to worry about it coming off. The craftsmanship is good, and you can even stand the iPhone on its side to, for example, watch videos. Additionally, you can change the colors of the PopSocket, but you’ll need to purchase those separately.

There isn’t a lot of material here, so I find €30 to be a bit pricey. Additionally, it’s important to remember that you can’t charge via MagSafe with the PopSocket attached; it needs to be removed first. Also, you can’t use MagSafe car mounts with the PopSocket attached to the back.

The RhinoShield GRIPMAX holder

The RhinoShield GRIPMAX holder no longer requires adhesive and now attaches via MagSafe. Additionally, it allows you to prop up the iPhone in two positions. The holder provides a very secure grip, as you insert two fingers through it. As usual from RhinoShield, there are many different designs available for customization.

One thing I noticed when pulling it off is that it often detaches the entire construct from the phone. Additionally, this holder doesn’t feel as high-quality as the one from PopSockets, as everything here is made of plastic. Like with the PopSockets holder, you can’t use MagSafe accessories with the GRIPMAX attached without removing it first.

The EWA MagOne MagSafe Finger Holder

The EWA MagOne MagSafe Finger Holder adheres very securely to the iPhone, and it provides a strong grip when held with the finger. What sets it apart is that it still allows for MagSafe charging. Compared to other holders like PopSocket or RhinoShield, this one is remarkably slim. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a stand function like the other holders, but it comes with plenty of accessories. It includes three interchangeable rubber strips and an additional MagSafe ring for attaching to a case or another phone. This makes it easy to retrofit with MagSafe.

The Anker MagSafe Magnetic Phone Grip adheres very securely to the iPhone, providing a secure grip when your finger is inserted. Since the band is magnetic, you can easily attach your iPhone to the refrigerator. Additionally, you can use it to prop up your iPhone.

However, when the band is unfolded, it tends to flutter around and can be a bit bothersome. Charging via MagSafe is also not possible with the Magnetic Phone Grip attached, as it needs to be removed. This leaves me wondering what the perfect use case for this product might be.
