I bought four screen protectors for the iPhone Duo, from under 3 dollars to 40 dollars each, and applied every one of them myself. The most important finding comes first, because it affects your buying decision more than any single protector: there is currently no working combination of screen protector and case on the iPhone Duo.
The underlying problem
Most iPhone Duo cases lay a thin frame over the front display. Along exactly the line where that ridge sits, the protectors leave roughly two millimetres of display uncovered. Put the frame on anyway and it pushes the glass up at the edges until it stops holding.
So it is one or the other: a screen protector, or a case with a front frame. Not both.
What does work: cases without a front piece, meaning plain back shells, and folio-style cases like the Apple Folio. There you apply a large protector and simply close the cover over it. Which cases those are is in my iPhone Duo case test, where I put nine models head to head.
One thing to know before you read on
The protector I would personally recommend, a Japanese glass from ROXX, is not sold in the US. I tested it because it is available in Europe, and it is the best value of the four by a wide margin: a black frame, rounded edges, roughly the same coverage as the 40 dollar Torras, at about a quarter of the price. I am telling you this so you do not go looking for it. What follows covers the three you can actually buy.

- [7-Layer Tora-Coating Technology, Lasting AR Clarity] The precision-engineered screen protector iPhone Duo users rely on applies seven AR layers through a high-precision magnetron sputtering process, lowering reflectivity below 0.8% while preserving brightness, sharp detail, precise contrast, and true color. The multi-layer structure reduces mirror-like reflections under sunlight and overhead lighting without making the display look dull, gray, or washed out, while maintaining lasting anti-reflective clarity through everyday wear for up to 3 years.
Best overall of the three available: Torras Anti-Reflect. 39.98 dollars for a single protector. The cleanest installation in the test, 79 x 114 millimetres and the largest of the four, with a black frame and rounded edges that make it disappear into the display. It is also the only one here with an anti-reflective coating. See the Torras Anti-Reflect on Amazon

- 9H Surface Hardness for Scratch Resistance: Resists scratches from keys, coins, and daily wear — keeping your screen looking new through everyday use
- Crystal Clear with 100% Optical Clarity: Engineered to deliver the same vivid colors and sharpness as your bare screen — independently lab-tested at 100% clarity for true visibility
- Original Touch Experience Preserved: Ultra-thin glass maintains your screen's original touch sensitivity — no lag, no resistance, no difference
- Full Sensor Compatibility: Precision cutout keeps Face ID, the front camera, and Always-On Display working on the iPhone Duo cover screen
Easiest to install: Spigen GLAS.tR EZ FIT. 19.99 dollars for a two pack. The applicator is the best designed of the lot. But my unit had one corner that would not stick down, and it has no black frame. See the Spigen GLAS.tR EZ FIT on Amazon
- [Compatibility] Designed for iPhone Duo for great protection. Please kindly check your device model before purchasing. Designed with thoughtful 2.5D curved edges, compatible with most phone cases
- [Effortless Installation] Comes with an easy installation tool. Allows you to align precisely and install the screen protector quickly without leaving any air bubbles
- [Enhanced Drop Resistance] Made with 9H+ tempered glass, which undergoes a second chemical strengthening process to further improve its impact and scratch resistance, providing your device with protection
- [Ultra-Clear & Highly Responsive] Featuring high light transmittance, the screen protector preserves your screen's original photo and video display quality. Ensures a smooth viewing and responsive touch experience, just like using the bare screen
- [Upgraded Electroplated Anti-Fingerprint Technology] Features an electroplated AF anti-fingerprint coating that significantly enhances oil and water repellency. Fingerprints and smudges wipe away effortlessly, keeping the screen clean and smooth while maintaining responsive, fluid touch performance
Cheapest: JETech. 7.99 dollars for three. The glass itself is almost identical to the Spigen. The applicator is what you are giving up. See the JETech protector on Amazon
Be aware of the honest version of this result: with the ROXX unavailable in the US, there is no cheap option here that has a black frame and rounded edges. If that invisible look matters to you, the Torras is the only one that delivers it, and you pay for it.

Pairs with this one: my comparison of nine iPhone Duo cases, which shows which models allow a screen protector at all. For the previous generation there is the iPhone 18 Pro screen protector test and the iPhone 18 Pro case test.
Everything is in the video
Every installation, every caliper measurement and the side by side test against a harsh lamp are in the video. You can also see the spot where two millimetres of display stay uncovered, which is obvious the moment the screen turns white.

The most expensive protector in the test and the one with the best installation by a clear margin. The applicator is elaborately built: the phone drops in, the glass clicks into place and a tab pulls it taut. I ended up with two tiny bubbles that disappeared immediately.
39.98 dollars for a single protector. 79 x 114 millimetres, the largest of the four. Black frame, rounded sides, it reaches cleanly into the corners.
On the anti-reflective coating: I tested it against a harsh lamp with the glass laid on halfway, so the difference sits side by side in one shot. The effect is real, the light glares less. But it is considerably smaller than the current enthusiasm around these coatings suggests.
✓ Best installation in the test, essentially bubble free
✓ Largest protector at 79 x 114 mm
✓ Black frame and rounded edges, invisible once applied
✓ Anti-reflective coating measurably reduces glare
✗ 39.98 dollars for one single protector
✗ The anti-reflective effect is smaller than its reputation
✗ A lot of plastic in the box and no spare glass
✗ Like all of them: no good with a case that has a front frame
Verdict: In the US lineup this is the one to buy if you want full coverage and an invisible finish. You are paying a premium for being the only option.
Spigen GLAS.tR EZ FIT
- Tempered Glass Display Protection: High-hardness tempered glass gives screen coverage against impact and scratches for your phone display
By far the simplest installation in the test. Lay the applicator on, press, pull the tab, done. Spigen tells you to wait 30 seconds afterwards and then peel the adhesive strip.
19.99 dollars for two, 77.7 x 113.1 millimetres. Two applicators, two cleaning kits and a leather mat to rest the phone on.
And then the problem: on my unit one corner would not stick down at all. Whatever I did, it lifted straight back up. On a screen protector that is a dealbreaker. It may well be a one off and that is exactly what returns are for, but it is what I measured.
On the plus side, coverage is correct, nothing of the display is left out. What is missing is the black frame, and the edges are not rounded.
✓ Simplest installation of all four
✓ Two protectors and two complete kits in the box
✓ Covers the full display area
✗ One corner on my unit would not stick
✗ No black frame, edges not rounded
✗ About a millimetre smaller than the Torras
✗ Plenty of bubbles during application
Verdict: The best applicator in the test cannot save a protector that lifts at a corner and covers less than the competition. Buy it for the easy install, not for the result.

The bargain of the test: 7.99 dollars for three, so under 3 dollars each. 77.7 x 112.9 millimetres. The glass itself is practically identical to the Spigen, the measurements differ by two tenths of a millimetre.
The difference is the applicator. JETech includes a simple tray you drop the glass into. With it you never come down centred at the bottom, the glass sits crooked, catches on the edge, and that is exactly where you get air pockets you cannot fix afterwards.
On my unit the edge did not bond cleanly. That was demonstrably the tray and not the glass: with Spigen’s squeegee the same spot pressed down without any trouble.
✓ Under 3 dollars per protector, three in the pack
✓ Glass quality practically identical to the Spigen
✓ Three cleaning kits included
✗ Poor applicator tray, the glass sits crooked
✗ Air pockets at the edge that cannot be corrected
✗ No black frame, edges not rounded
✗ Smallest protector in the test
Verdict: If you want several protectors to practise on and can live with a slightly crooked result, this is a lot of glass for the money. As permanent protection the applicator lets it down.
Common questions
Can I use a screen protector and a case at the same time?
Only if the case has no front frame. Plain back shells and folio cases like the Apple Folio work. Anything that lays a ridge over the front display pushes the glass up.
Why does no protector cover the whole front?
All four leave a narrow strip free at the edge, around two millimetres on the smaller ones. That is exactly where most cases put their front frame. It is not a manufacturing fault, it follows from the device having to fold shut.
Is anti-reflective coating worth it?
The effect is real but small. Against a harsh lamp it glares less, in everyday use you barely notice. At 39.98 dollars against 7.99 it has to matter to you.
What does the black frame do?
Protectors with a black border and rounded edges disappear into the display. Without it you see the edge of the glass, and you feel it when you swipe.
How many protectors do I need?
Plan for at least two. Something usually goes wrong on the first attempt, typically a speck of dust or a bubble at the edge. JETech ships three, Spigen two, Torras only one.
Who is testing here?
I am Sven and I run Case Tester. I buy every product myself, I am not sent anything, and I measure instead of copying spec sheets: dimensions with a caliper, prices from my own orders. If something does not work it goes in the test exactly as it happened, expensive brand name or not.
