And here the 4 Best Screen Protectors
iPhone 16 Pro | The 5 Best Cases in the Test
Below each case, you’ll find the pros and cons, as well as a summary. You’ll also find links to Amazon, where I bought the case, with all four iPhone 16 models clearly listed, so you don’t accidentally buy the wrong one.
1st Place – ROXX Next Era Case for iPhone 16 Pro
I’ve been a fan of this case since the iPhone 14 Pro. It uses the same material as Apple’s original iPad cases, which feels really soft and premium. The case is also very lightweight and slim, barely adding any bulk. It’s a hard case, offering protection for both the display and camera lenses. There’s also a microfiber inner lining. MagSafe is built-in and works just as well as the original. It features metal buttons and a metal camera ring instead of rubber, offering a perfect and tactile click. The cutouts for the speakers, etc., are spot on, and all iPhone 16 Pro screen protectors from my test are compatible with this case.
Unfortunately, the speakers, like with the silicone case, aren’t individually cut out, and the microfiber lining doesn’t extend to the edges like in the silicone cases.
Price: $29.90
Pros:
✓ Very comfortable material, without silicone
✓ Lightweight & slim
✓ Hard case
✓ Microfiber Inner protection
✓ Display protection
✓ Camera protection with metal ring
✓ With strong MagSafe
✓ Metal buttons with perfect feedback
✓ Good cutouts
✓ Compatible with all screen protectors
✓ Very cheap at this level
Cons:
✗ Inner lining doesn’t extend to the edges
✗ Camera button not covered
✗ Speakers with one big cutout
Conclusion – Who is this case for?
For me, Apple’s or ROXX’s silicone case has always been the best, but you had to live with the downsides of silicone, like attracting more dust and dirt and being harder to slide into pockets. With the NEXT ERA case, these drawbacks are gone, while all the advantages remain.
Here you can find it for the iPhone 16
2nd Place – Original Apple Silicone Case for iPhone 16 Pro
By now, many are familiar with Apple’s original silicone case, which is, of course, available again for the iPhone 16. This case stands out for its fantastic material that feels perfect in hand. The inside is a hard case wrapped in this silicone gel mixture, offering excellent drop protection. Additionally, the case is lined with microfiber all the way into the corners, meaning the frame and back of your new iPhone 16 won’t get scratched unnoticed if something gets between the case and the phone.
The case edges rise about 2mm above the display, even with a screen protector on. This prevents the display from touching surfaces when placed face down. The camera on the back is also protected by a raised edge. The buttons offer a perfect and audible click, and the cutouts for the speakers, etc., are spot on, with the speakers individually cut out. You can use all the screen protectors from my test with this case as well. MagSafe is, of course, included.
Unfortunately, this case isn’t cheap, and you’ll have to decide whether it’s worth it for you. Also, keep in mind that silicone attracts more dust and doesn’t slide into pockets as easily as plastic cases do.
Price: $49
Pros:
✓ Excellent material
✓ Camera button covered
✓ Hard case
✓ Microfiber inner protection
✓ Display protection
✓ Camera protection
✓ With MagSafe
✓ Buttons with perfect feedback
✓ Compatible with all screen protectors from my test
Cons:
✗ Expensive
✗ Speaker cutouts not perfect
✗ Silicone attracts dust and dirt
✗ Doesn’t slide easily into pockets
Conclusion – Who is this case for?
This case is very expensive, but you get a lot in return, including the Apple logo on the back! If you can live without that, you can get the same one from ROXX for $24.90
Here you can find it for the iPhone 16
3rd Place – Spigen Enzo Aramid Case for iPhone 16 Pro
Spigen’s Enzo case features a special material, Aramid, which gives the case a premium feel. It has a hard back and slightly thicker rubber edges. The inside also features microfiber lining, and it offers camera and display protection. The buttons and the camera ring look like metal, and the MagSafe is strong enough. The cutouts are well-executed, and all screen protectors from my test can be used.
However, the microfiber lining doesn’t extend to the edges, and the speakers aren’t individually cut out. It’s also on the pricier side.
Price: $39.99
Pros:
✓ Aramid
✓ Hard case
✓ Inner lining
✓ Display protection
✓ Camera protection with metal
✓ With MagSafe
✓ Metal buttons with good and audible click
✓ Well-placed cutouts
✓ Compatible with all screen protectors
Cons:
✗ Inner lining doesn’t extend to the corners
✗ Camera button not covered
✗ Expensive
✗ Speakers with one big cutout
Conclusion – Who is this case for?
If you love Aramid and don’t mind paying for it, this case offers excellent protection!
4th Place – Torras Guardian Case for iPhone 16 Pro
The Torras Guardian Mag case is made of a type of plastic with rubber edges, but it doesn’t feel cheap. The case has a hard back and firm rubber edges. The display is protected, as is the camera on the back. MagSafe is also included, and you can swap out the buttons to add a splash of color. The buttons have a good and audible click, and the cutouts for the speakers, etc., are well executed. You can also use all the screen protectors from my test with this case.
However, it lacks an inner lining, so if sand gets between the case and the phone, it could scratch the back without you noticing.
Price: $34,99
Pros:
✓ Nice material
✓ Hard case
✓ Display protection
✓ Camera protection
✓ With MagSafe
✓ Replaceable buttons
✓ Buttons with good feedback
✓ Well placed cutouts
✓ Compatible with all screen protectors
Cons:
✗ No inner microfiber protection
✗ Camera button not covered
✗ Speakers with one big cutout
Conclusion – Who is this case for?
The Torras case makes a great impression, offering all the protective features except for inner lining.
Here you can find it for the iPhone 16
5th Place – Rhinoshield Solid Suit Case for iPhone 16 Pro
The Rhinoshield Solid Suit case is very robust, but unfortunately also quite thick. It has a hard back with firm rubber edges. Inside is a pattern designed to trap particles like sand, preventing them from scratching the phone’s back. It includes display and camera protection, and MagSafe is built in. The buttons have a great and audible click, and the cutouts are well done. All screen protectors from my test are compatible.
As usual with Rhinoshield, it’s not cheap, and for me, the case is a bit too thick, but for others, it might be just right.
Price: $44.99
Pros:
✓ Very good protection
✓ Hard case
✓ A kind of inner protection
✓ Display protection
✓ Camera protection
✓ With MagSafe
✓ Buttons with good feedback
✓ Well-placed cutouts
✓ Compatible with all screen protectors
Cons:
✗ Expensive
✗ Very thick
✗ Camera button not covered
✗ Speakers with one big cutout
Conclusion – Who is this case for?
Rhinoshield offers great quality and top-notch protection, but you’ll have to compromise on the feel, as the case significantly thickens the iPhone 16’s edges.
