The JETech is the cheapest screen protector in my iPhone 18 Pro test. Two protectors cost about $13, and that’s not even a sale price. I wanted to find out whether you can really save money here, or whether the low price comes from somewhere. It does come from somewhere.
What’s in the Box
The pack contains two screen protectors plus two camera lens films. I’d skip the lens films. They’re simple clear films that just look bad once applied. I’ll have a separate camera protection test soon, with protectors that look good and actually protect. What’s missing from the box is dust stickers, which almost every other protector includes.
The Reason for the Price: Installation
Instead of a tray you drop the iPhone into, JETech only gives you a frame. You place it on the iPhone and then have to lay the glass in as straight as possible yourself, and quickly, before dust settles again. Make sure „Top“ is at the top. In most cases it doesn’t work out perfectly, and for me the glass also ended up crooked. On one side there was clearly more space to the edge than on the other.
That’s more than a cosmetic flaw. With a case, the rim can press on the glass on one side while leaving a gap for dust and dirt on the other. On the plus side, there were hardly any air bubbles, and it was still quick.
Fit and Look
The JETech has no black frame, so you can see the hard edge in the light. The size comparison was interesting: this $7 protector is exactly as large as the $44 Belkin from the Apple Store. Face ID works. If the glass sits straight, every case from my iPhone 18 Pro case test fits.
The Hardness Test
The box cutter didn’t leave a scratch, which was true for every protector in the test. With the tile you could already hear the scratching. The marks were very clearly visible as soon as light hit them. That puts the JETech on the level of the other basic protectors and clearly behind the ROXX Japanese glass.
Verdict
The JETech is the cheapest protector in the test and the same size as Apple’s $44 one. In exchange, the installation tends to leave the glass crooked. You also get no dust stickers, no black frame and clear scratches in the hardness test. If you have practice applying protectors and want to save, go for it. Everyone else should spend a few dollars more. The ones that do better are in my ranking of iPhone 18 Pro screen protectors.
