Torras is usually one of the top screen protector brands. That’s why, in my iPhone 18 Pro test, I put it head to head with the test winner, ROXX. For everyday use the Torras gets almost everything right. The hardness test, however, revealed a difference that cost it the recommendation.
Price
Two protectors cost about $26 on sale, normally about $30. That’s roughly $13 to $15 per protector depending on the price, which isn’t cheap. The ROXX test winner comes in at about $11 per protector, with three for about $33.
What’s in the Box and Installation
Torras includes everything you need. There’s an alignment tray with the first protector already loaded, wet and dry wipes and dust stickers, so it’s hard to go wrong. Installation took about three minutes. I did get more air bubbles than with most of the others and had to push several out, which was annoying. After that, though, the glass looked great.
Fit and Look
The Torras reaches the edge and has a black frame that even extends slightly past the display. Nothing on the display is covered, and you practically can’t tell a screen protector is on. Face ID worked instantly. It’s case-compatible as long as the case doesn’t wrap extremely far over the display. Every model from my iPhone 18 Pro case comparison fits.
The Hardness Test
The box cutter couldn’t touch it. Then came the tile, porcelain with a Mohs hardness of 8, which left clearly visible scratches that were very pronounced in places. Side by side, the ROXX Japanese glass had noticeably fewer and fainter scratches.
The Bend Test
The bend test made the real difference. The scratched Torras broke when bent, just like the Belkin from the Apple Store. It behaved exactly the same way and broke in the same spot. The ROXX and ESR, on the other hand, held up.
Verdict
The Torras is a good everyday protector, with a black frame, an invisible fit and a complete installation kit. It lost the hardness test, though, because it scratched more and broke when bent. It’s also more expensive per protector than the test winner. If you want to stick with Torras, you’re not making a big mistake. If you’re looking for the toughest protector, you’ll find it in my iPhone 18 Pro screen protector roundup.
