I got my hands on three MagSafe power banks for the iPhone and put them head to head: the Anker Nano, the Torras, and a no-name product. I tested everything that actually matters in daily use — size, weight, the real magnetic holding force using a pull-force gauge, and the actual charging speed using a power meter. Spoiler: in two out of three measurements, the results didn’t match what’s printed on the box.

The Three Contenders at a Glance

  • Anker Nano: 49.99 euros, 5000 mAh, rated at 15 watts.
  • Torras: 39.99 euros, 5000 mAh, rated at 18 watts.
  • No-name: just 20 euros, yet 6000 mAh and supposedly 20 watts of fast charging.

On paper, the no-name product sounds almost too good: the cheapest, the biggest battery, the highest wattage. Which is exactly why it’s worth actually measuring.

Size and Weight: A Surprise on the Scale

Side by side, the differences are small. The Torras and the no-name are practically identical in size, while the Anker is slightly wider — hardly noticeable in everyday use. In theory, the 6000 mAh power bank should be a bit thicker and heavier, and it is indeed slightly thicker.

Then came the scale: Torras 114 grams, Anker 119 grams — and the no-name product just 113 grams. Wait a second: the device with supposedly the biggest battery is the lightest of the three? Physically, that doesn’t quite add up, and it at least raises doubts about whether those 6000 mAh are real.

How Strong Is MagSafe Really? The Pull-Force Test

For this test, I glued a suction cup to the back of each power bank and used a pull-force gauge to measure how many kilograms it takes to pull them off the iPhone. The results:

  • No-name: 0.59 kilograms — came off pretty quickly.
  • Torras: 0.86 kilograms — respectable.
  • Anker: around 1 kilogram — by far the strongest hold.

This is where the difference between cheap and premium becomes tangible: the most expensive power bank holds the strongest, the cheapest one the weakest. One thing worth knowing: in daily use, magnetic holding force also depends on your case — MagSafe only works at full strength if the case is properly built with a magnet ring. The Charging Test: Who Actually Delivers What’s Promised?

With a power meter between the power bank and the iPhone, I measured how many watts actually arrive. The iPhone was at 71 percent battery — at a lower charge level, peak numbers would likely be even slightly higher.

Anker: Rated at 15 watts, I measured up to 18.9 watts — the power bank significantly exceeds its own spec. That’s something you rarely see.

Torras: Rated at 18 watts, measured up to 17.4 watts — stable and honest. The promise holds up within measurement tolerance.

No-name: Rated at 20 watts. There was a brief peak toward 19 watts, but the output fluctuated heavily and eventually settled around 15 watts. It never sustains the advertised 20 watts in my test — that’s marketing more than reality.

The Verdict: A Clear Winner

1st place: Anker Nano. Strongest MagSafe hold, more charging power than advertised, great build quality. Yes, it’s the most expensive and the widest of the three — but it’s the only one that delivers more than it promises.

2nd place: Torras. Solid holding force, essentially delivers its promised 18 watts, and costs 10 euros less than the Anker. An honest product.

3rd place: No-name. The 20-euro price is tempting, but the weakest magnet, the wildly fluctuating charging output, and the questionable weight for a supposed 6000 mAh speak for themselves.

My Conclusion

If you want a MagSafe power bank you can rely on, get the Anker Nano — it clearly led in the two disciplines that matter most: hold and charging power. The Torras is the sensible middle ground for anyone looking to save 10 euros. The no-name product I’d rather advise against: what looks like the best deal on paper performs worst in actual measurements and charges the least reliably.
