Privacy Screen Protector Matte vs. Glossy | Which is Better?

Below, you’ll find the pros and cons of both products, as well as the link to Amazon, where I purchased the protectors.

The Glossy Privacy Screen Protector from ESR for the iPhone 16 Pro

Price: $9,99 for 3 pieces ($3.33 each)

Pros

At a 45-degree angle, the display is black
Easy installation with a frame
Touch and Face ID work smoothly
Includes all necessary accessories
Compatible with all cases from my test

Cons

The display is darker, and brightness needs to be increased
The camera hole looks like an air bubble
Too small—can be seen from the side under the glass
Visible
No rounded edges

Conclusion

There are two types of screen protectors for the iPhone 16: the smaller ones without a black frame, like this one, or the larger ones with a black frame that cut off a tiny part of the display when viewed from the side. Each person has to decide which they prefer. From a 45-degree side angle, the display with this screen protector is black, just as it should be.

The Matte Privacy Screen Protector from Ksleri for the iPhone 16 Pro

Price: $14.98 for 2 pieces ($7.49 each)

Pros

At a 45-degree angle, the display is black
The matte finish feels very nice
Easy installation with a frame
Touch and Face ID work smoothly
Includes all necessary accessories
Compatible with all cases from my test

Cons

Display even darker than ESR’s, brightness must be increased
Display appears pixelated
The camera hole looks like an air bubble
Covers a large part of the display
Too small—can be seen from the side under the glass
Visible
No rounded edges

Conclusion

The matte finish feels great and looks good, but the protector is the same size as ESR’s and additionally has a black frame. This black frame sits directly on the display and covers part of it. Not recommended.
