Apple’s Silicone Case costs about $65. The ROXX Silicone Case costs about $27. I tested both side by side, on the same iPhone 18 Pro Max, with the same measurements. The result is closer than the price gap suggests, and in one area the cheaper case even comes out ahead.

The Classic Silicone Surface

The first thing you notice is that the ROXX case still has the classic, soft silicone surface. That’s exactly what people used to love about Apple’s case. For the 18 Pro, Apple changed the texture, and it now feels more like plastic and a little more slippery. If you miss the old feel, you’ll find it here.

Inside, the two cases are built almost the same way, with the same soft microfiber lining. There is one difference in construction: Apple uses a plastic part in one spot, while ROXX molds that area entirely from silicone.

The Difference at the Camera Control

This is where it gets interesting. ROXX puts a very thin layer of silicone over the Camera Control. It lets you feel the button better under your finger, and I actually liked it more than Apple’s open cutout. I checked every function: single press, double press and light press. Everything responds reliably, even with the silicone layer on top.

Buttons and Cutouts

The side buttons press cleanly. As with the Apple case, every opening is cut out separately, and nothing is covered. Not every case in the test does this, and I always think it’s the better solution because the case stays sturdier.

Protection

The ROXX case fully wraps the iPhone, with a raised lip around the screen and camera. The microfiber lining traps sand and dust so the iPhone 18 Pro’s scratch-prone back doesn’t suffer. Just like the original, the silicone will pick up marks over time if it hits asphalt. That’s normal for silicone cases. MagSafe: As Strong as the Original

MagSafe charging works. In the pull test the ROXX Silicone Case reached 1.16 kg and the Apple case 1.17 kg, so they’re practically identical. Both are above the 1 kg mark I count as good, but in the lower range among the ten cases.

Colors and Price

The biggest drawback of the ROXX case is the color choice, since it only comes in black. Apple offers far more colors. On price, at about $27, it costs less than half of the original.

Verdict

The ROXX Silicone Case does almost everything Apple’s Silicone Case does. It has the classic soft surface, a microfiber lining, separate cutouts, equally strong MagSafe and a Camera Control that feels even better. If you can live with black, you save almost $40. It’s the best value in the test. Find out which case leads overall in my ranking of iPhone 18 Pro cases.
